Ready to cross something off your bucket list? Think you are ready to push yourself to a new level?
It’s the perfect time to join Charlotte Roller Derby for our 8 week long Beginning Skater Boot Camp. At the end of this boot camp you will have improved your skating skills, improved your confidence, met some amazing new people, and begun your journey into the Derby-verse.
No experience needed–our trainers are ready to equip you with all the non-contact skills you need to form the foundation of roller derby.
This boot camp will target the following non-contact skills: posture, stride, crossovers, one foot glides, sticky skating, t-stops, plow stops, lateral movement, knee taps, double knee slides, 4 point falls, hopping, stepping, grapevine, shuffle, quick steps, one-foot balance, weaving through cones and in a pace line, and skating laps. We will also begin to teach you some of the rules of roller derby.
Gear is required. Rental gear is available for boot camp participants for an additional charge. Available (but limited) gear includes skates, helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards with RSVP. A $25 rental gear pass is available for purchase (a $51 value for 8 weeks).
