One of my proudest/favorite moments was when I was able to breastfeed my son during our pregame pep talk. I was able to combine being a mom and an athlete at the same time.
I could not participate in this sport without the love and support of Dadcap!
What got you into roller derby?
It started to exist. I had tank top in high school that said “Shake, Rattle and Roller Derby” so I was just waiting for the opportunity. I found a league near me in 2008.
How did you come up with your name?
I wanted something with “Mayhem” but apparently the dictionary definition involves intimidation through removal of body parts. That felt too creepy, but the word “Madcap” was on the same page, and that seemed appropriate.
What is your biggest goal this year?
To get our WFTDA rankings above 100 with a solid sense of teamwork and accomplishment
Helmet and mouth guard. Because I really like my brain.
